San Jose Compression Hip Fracture Attorneys
A fracture of the hip, or the proximal end of the femur near the hip joint, is an injury that is caused by high-impact trauma from car accidents, falls and other serious accidents. In most cases, a hip fracture requires surgery and a lengthy period of rehabilitation before a person is able to walk, run and perform other basic activities. This treatment is expensive and accident victims may be eligible for compensation to pay for medical care.
If you have suffered a hip fracture in a car wreck or due to another person’s negligence, it is in your best interest to speak with an experienced attorney about your rights. At the San Mateo law firm of Galine, Frye, Fitting & Frangos, we have more than 75 years of combined experience representing catastrophic injury victims in California. Talk with us about your accident and what options you have for recovery.
San Mateo Hip Fracture Attorneys
There are four different types of common hip fractures which include:
- Femoral head fractures: a fracture of the femoral head as the result of trauma and a dislocation of the hip joint
- Femoral neck fracture: a fracture that is adjacent to the femoral head. These fractures can also damage the blood supply to the femoral head
- Intertrochanteric fracture: A break in which the fracture line is between the lower and the back part of the base of the bone. This is the most common type of hip fracture.
- Subtrochanteric fracture: a break that is below the base of the femoral head and may extend down into the shaft of the femur
Small children, infants and elderly persons are more vulnerable to hip fractures, especially when exposed to trauma in an accident.
